General Round Up

Welcome to the First installment of the General Round Up. Each Thursday before game day, we will bring you each news story from that week involving Grant High athletics. From football to cross country and everything in between, this is your place to find everything to do with the Generals this fall sports season. This week was a busy one for the Generals- we had our first home cross country meet, multiple soccer games, and the volleyball team taking on league competition. Al of it leading up to tomorrow’s clash with Madison. Now I’ll stop wasting your time and get to this week’s stories.

Grant falls to impressive Sherwood team via The Portland Tribune, a recap of The football team’s loss to #4 Sherwood last Friday.

Crosstown Clash gets latest installment via OregonLive, the soccer teams at Grant and Lincoln flat out don’t like each other. Possibly the best soccer rivalry in the state had its latest chapter completed this Tuesday with Lincoln taking both contests.
Former Grant star Kenneth Acker stars in first NFL start via OregonLive, Kenneth Acker, who lead the Generals to a quarterfinals appearance in 2009 was impressive in his first NFL start for the San Fransisco 49ers. 
Ndamukong Suh won’t be fined for hot on Alfred Morris via OregonLive, Suh performed adequately in the Dolphins season opener against the Redskins, but the former Grant star was in the middle of controversy again with a questionable hit on runningback Alfred Morris.
